How do you choose your trail?

Each trail has its own character. One of the most popular ones is the GR 5, which runs all the way to the Mediterranean Sea in Nice. Another well-trodden path is the GR 128, which traverses Flanders from west to east and ends just across the border in Germany. Upon completion of the GR 128, hikers can obtain a certificate from Grote Routepaden, much like the "Compostela" for pilgrims hiking to Santiago.

If you are interested in exploring one region fully, then a Regional GR might be just the thing for you. These routes are often appreciated for the many nature reserves they cross and the easy access to public transport along the way, allowing you to split your hike into manageable stages.

And last but not least there are our 'Treinstappers', day walks between two train stations along GR paths.

You can access an overview of all Flemish GR trails on our website and download the GPX-files. Each route is well-marked in both directions and in our webshop, you will find guidebooks with trail descriptions (in Dutch), detailed maps and background information, as well as an overview map of all GR trails in Belgium.
